New Years Resolution
We just shot a video for Bottle Pop and it was a TON of fun!!!!! It was definitely a video where i felt like i was able to really be in my element. It’s so fun to play up my PCD persona and have fun with it. I’m so inspired by the 80’s when it comes to fashion which equals fun!!! Make sure you stay tuned as it will be coming out SOON!!!
Getting ready for our tour, so things around here are pretty hectic. It’s hard to plan your life two months in advance! I bought a new computer cause I wanna stay updated here and on my Facebook and MySpace. The PCD train has been full speed ahead which makes it nearly impossible to have time to make other things happen. I’m excited to be onstage and in the groove of things seeing all of you all over the world!!!
I hope your new years was everything you hoped it to be! My new years resolution is to memorize the Lords Prayer. I was home in Warrensburg, Missouri, getting ready to eat our Christmas Dinner when I realized how different things are now. Its been about 3 or 4 years since my grandmother passed away and my brother Jeremy is now married with two kids, Mason and Conner. My brother Steven is engaged and has a boy, Gabriel and my sister is married with two kids, Alyson and Gracyn. My aunt has breast cancer and is fighting it with chemo and my grandfather is getting older and couldn’t make it cause he didn’t feel well. I was pretty exhausted due to the travel and working hard but it felt good to relax and take in as much simplicity in family foundation as i could. You can learn so much through listening and watching.
Right after I filled my plate with all the Christmas dinner treats I solemnly realized that my grandparents were no longer the example for the family and my parents and aunt and uncles had taken that position. I realized that a generation had passed the torch down. I took a moment to assess what that meant to me. It meant that I was growing older, that time had passed and everything I could only dream of as a kid was around me. We always had a smaller kids table where the younger kids would eat. When we all got old enough to sit with the adults we retired the kids table. Now the kids table was filled with all my adorable nieces and nephews. As people started to eat I realized that if my Grandmother were still alive she would lead us in the Lord’s Prayer. I guess that tradition has come to mean a lot to me now and I asked my Mother if she remembered the prayer and if she would lead it. I have learned to believe in my own set of beliefs which don’t exactly fall in place with any certain religion but what prayer does for me on these special days at these special moments is keep the spirit of a loving family alive. It gives meaning to tradition and it keeps the spirit of my Grandmother alive also. Without teaching me directly, the actions she chose has instilled a foundation of beliefs that means family to me. I see more of her in me everyday. That’s when I decided that my New Years resolution this year would be to learn the Lord’s Prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. for ever and ever. AmenWhat are your New Year’s resolutions and why!!!!!?????
